I'm a Business type. Can I deduct Expense? It cost about $Amount in dollars, optional
We keep your question, never your name. General information, not tax advice. How this works · Admin login
This tool gives you a first read on whether a business expense is deductible on Schedule C for the 2026 tax year. It checks what you bought against the IRS test that an expense must be ordinary and necessary for your kind of business, and against the exceptions in the tax code. Every answer shows the rule it used and a link to the IRS source.
It's general information, not tax advice for your situation. It doesn't see your records, your other income, or how you actually used what you bought. An AI model makes the call, and it can be wrong.
Every answer shows how sure the model is. Below 75%, we tell you it's a close call. What you do with that is your decision.
We keep the questions people ask (the expense, your kind of business and the answer) with a rough location and the kind of device, so we can see what people need and make the answers better. We never keep your name, email or IP address with them. We also count page visits the same way, with no cookies: rough location, the kind of device and the site that sent you. The Ask a professional form is different: what you type there, including your name and email, is kept and sent to the firms you pick, and only when you send it. Using this tool doesn't make you a client of Nalepa Labs LLC or of any firm listed here.
Tax rules change. We update this tool every January.
Want a person to look at it? Use Ask a professional under any answer to send your question to a listed firm.
